Hillsdale Historic House Tour

Stroll Coldwater Street, home of 19 National Historic Register buildings, and visit four of the houses, built from 1825 to 1867 in the Federal, Classical, Greek Revival and Gothic Revival styles, and a building that has been a law office since built in 1892. Learn about the history of the houses, street and town from long-time local residents. Ticket order forms available at the below website, as well as at B&G Wine and Gourmet and at Passiflora in Hillsdale. Ticket booth at the 1928 Masonic Temple, 57 Coldwater Street, Hillsdale.
Explore the Estuary

We will explore Stockport Creek, one of the ten largest tributaries to the Hudson Estuary, and look for eagles, herons and cardinal flowers in bloom. Own canoe/kayak, equipment, and PFD required. Space is limited and pre-registration is required – contact Jenny Brinker.

Tours depart from the Henry Hudson Riverfront Park on the hour and Village of Athens Waterfront Park on the half hour. Participants will be treated to a ten-minute boat ride on the Spirit of Hudson pontoon boat. Once at the lighthouse, Emily Brunner tells stories of living on the lighthouse as a young girl. Visitors also have the opportunity to climb the stairs to the lantern room and exit onto the galley for spectacular views of the Catskill Mountains and the Hudson River. Bring your camera and sense of adventure. Souvenirs are available. Make your reservations today.

Welcome roadies! Don’t miss this monthly one day event with stunning views of mountain ranges, vast farms and pastures, quaint towns and villages, the Hudson Valley Rail Trail and a gorgeous lake. The terrain is rolling and challenging. The mileage options are 35, 43, or 50 for the hard core looking for a “half century.” The SAG support vehicle sets up a few rest stops and is always around watching out for you. Participants are able to ride at your own pace. Limit of 20-cyclist each event so book early. Arrangements for pickup at the Wassaic Metro-North Rail Station need to be done in advance.

Join Mary K. Hughes on an informational walk through Church’s flower garden. Learn a little history as well as new plant care and maintenance of perennial gardens. Bring questions on Heirloom annuals and perennials; stay for the Olana sunsets. Mary holds a degree in Horticulture as well as Floriculture and has a floral design certificate from SUNY Cobleskill Agriculture College. She has owned and operated her own business for 8 years, runs a greenhouse specializing in Heirloom plants, and was on the board of the Hudson Valley Flower show where she was a ribbon holder for design.
