Invoking the venue’s industrial heritage of mass production, Hussain has cast the 1,000 sculptures over recent months from HydroCal (a form of plaster) from molds made from an original, 10-sided mahogany prototype. Winter Snowshoe Walk

Experience Mud Creek on snowshoes! Beginners and advanced snowshoe hikers are welcome. A brief snowshoe lesson will be provided before we hit the trail to admire the beauty of nature in winter and search for signs of wildlife. A limited number of snowshoes are available. Registration is recommended in order to reserve snowshoes. The hike is a snow or no snow event.

Flamenco Heats Things Up

The Hudson-Chatham Winery is thrilled to be hosting internationally renowned flamenco guitarist Maria Zemantauski for the afternoon. Many of you have heard Maria play at our legendary Sangria Festival in August. Maria’s back for this special event, joining Huffington Post blogger and local author Claudia Ricci for a book signing of Seeing Red. Claudia’s book is a page-turner about a woman who travels half-way around the world in search of true love, only to find it in the magic of her own flamenco dancing. You’ll be transported by the worlds and the music – and a tasting of the winery’s award-winning wines! – inside our cozy tasting rooms.

Snowshoe Historic Carriage Roads

Snowshoe along the carriage drives to see the transition from farm to forest, skirt along the edge of North Meadow and see beautiful views of the Catskills from Ridge Road. Scott Sharrad: “Greg Allman’s Secret Weapon” Gregg Allman is a blessed man and all of his musical life he has had the privilege of playing next to some of the greatest guitar players in history. From his brother Duane to Warren Haynes and Dereck Trucks, Gregg’s bands have been a fertile spawning ground of unbelievable talent. For the past several years, Scott Sharrard has been standing in the sweet spot of the Gregg Allman Band.
Connor Kennedy: Local Saugerties native, at only 17 he is a multi-instrumentalist, playing all kinds of music authentically and with high energy, from smooth blues licks to twangy Telecaster lines. Tracks & Traces Snowshoe Hike
2-3pm
Join us for an animal tracking hike around Mud Creek! We may see tracks and traces left by squirrels, foxes, deer, and perhaps even a bobcat! We will look for signs of wildlife and learn about the natural history of local animals. A limited number of snowshoes are available. Registration is recommended in order to reserve snowshoes. The hike is a snow or no snow event.

Framing the Viewshed: A Bend in The River
An Insider Account of the Hudson Valley’s 1979 Nuclear Decision

In 1979, a nuclear power plant was nearly built on the Hudson River in plain view of Olana State Historic Site. The Olana Partnership is presenting a panel discussion about this little-known incident in Hudson Valley history. For the first time ever, three key players in this debate will unite and recount this game-changing episode, and how each played an important role. The panelists, Carl Petrich, J. Winthrop Aldrich, and Richard Benas, will discuss the unprecedented and nationally significant approach of considering the visual impact of a nuclear power plant in the region. Dorothy Heyl, a member of Olana’s Landscape/Viewshed Committee, will moderate. Reservations appreciated.

This legendary Parisian cabaret, founded in 1951 by Alain Bernardin, has become over the years the Parisian nightlife “must” for locals as well as any visitors, ranking alongside the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre.
